At Home with Kate Spade

You know I love my Kate & Andy. Coolest couple ever! I bookmark (or Pin) any pics I can find online of the Spade's homes. Here are some of my faves I have collected thus far. Enjoy a look inside the wonderful and eccentric world of the Spades.

Missoni for Target

Mark your calendars for September 13th. Missoni for Target will be arriving in stores and flying off shelves. This high end brand has taken the very smart step of designing a limited edition line for Target. I could be wrong but, I think H&M made this trend hot a few years ago with lines designed by Stella McCartny, Karl Lagerfeld, and Madonna just to name a few. While H&M is only available in stores and not online, Target is much more accessible to those of us not lucky enough to have and H&M in town. The Missoni line covers not only clothes but home, accessories, baby, shoes, and even a very festive bicycle. Below are some of my favorite pieces from the look book. If you want to get your Missoni on, get there early on the 13th or get online first thing that day. I predict that this highly publicized line will be a quick sell out.
As a side note - PLEASE don't wear all this at the same time! Too much!

Decorating with real personal style

Spoonflower is a great site for fabrics but they take it one step further, you can upload your own doodles, drawings and designs to make custom fabric. Everyone likes customized furniture that isn't so mass market and this is the prefect way to get a one of a kind piece. If you aren't artistic, they have thousands of fabrics to choose from. Most are fun, poppy, and modern looking. Although I haven't looked at each and every fabric, I think it is safe to say that I wouldn't go there for something classic but there is a little but of everything else. If you do make your own fabric through Spoonflower, send me a picture.

Double the Talent: Tommy & Christie Smythe

Tommy and Christie Smythe cover the best of both worlds in one family. He is an HGTV star and amazing interior designer with a taste for all things fine. She is the owner (along with Andrea Lenczner) of Smythe Les Vestes clothing company that specializes in the most beautiful jackets. Their styles are both completely chic with a mix of cutting edge and classic design. If I could just have Tommy decorate my home and Christie dress me, I would be a happy camper. Check out the amazing work of the Smythe's below.

Color Obsession: Marimekko

I swiped the above picture from Sara Richardson's FB page. It is so beautiful that I want to blow it up and frame it. I started digging a little and found out that this picture was taken at a Marimekko store. I am probably late to the game, and you have all heard of Marimekko, but I am immediately adding this to my ever expanding obsession/inspiration list. If you are one of the three (including me) people who weren't familiar with this colorful brand, you might recognize their patterns from some Crate & Barrell products which have featured them for nearly 50 years. So, add these sites to your list, do a little shopping and add some color to your life.

No one does summer like Crate & Barrel

Bright colors, plastic plates, patio umbrellas, ice cream makers...it doesn't feel like summer until I get my Crate & Barrell catalogue in the mail. I was thumbing though the new summer catalogue yesterday and, just like every other year, I am mentally planning on having the cutest summer parties, most stylish patio and fun summer tableware...just because. I have yet to actually pull the trigger and buy all this wonderful stuff but, who knows, maybe this will be the year!

If you would like something a little more modern and/or inexpensive try Create & Barrel's sister company CB2.

Very Basic to Very Funky: Fishs Eddy

Today, I am highlighting one of my favorite NYC stores, Fishs Eddy. This place is an emporium of housewares. From the most basic white plates and silverware to....well....
just check it out for yourself.
My personal fave are the cake stands. To die for!

If you are in the NYC area, the store is located at 889 Broadway @ 19th.

Yes I am just dusting, but I look good doing it...

Alice Supply Company is a great source for a jazzed up version of those run-of-the-mill boring tools for the home. Yes, we have seen a dust pan, a hose and a hammer. They are not much to look at, until now.  You can even salute our mates across the pond while watering your lawn.

Top of the Line: Sarah Richardson

Sara Richardson is a Canadian interior designer that caught my attention a few years ago. I am a big believer in the saying you get what you pay for. With that being said, Sarah uses the best of the best in all her homes. Her style is clean and modern but has a livable feel to it. She has had quite a few shows on HGTV the past few years and has a new one starting this weekend, Sarah's Summer House. Below is some of my favorite work. Interesting fact,  sidekick and fellow designer Tommy Smythe is the brother of Christie Smythe of Smythe Les Vestes

Urban Grace

I found this blog through a friend and I check up on it about once a week.
It is along the home decor/design lines and it is just my style!
