Barneys is going Gaga

Lady Gaga has taken over Barneys for the holidays. Beginning tonight at 11:59 p.m. you can head to Barneys New York and experience the Lady Gaga workshop. The entire 5th floor of Barneys has been transformed into eight mini-stores that will feature Gaga themed items such as candy, toys, apparel, accessories and holiday themed items. There will also be Gaga installations throughout the city including Columbus Circle, Broadway & 23rd, and Broadway & Houston. If you are lucky enough to be in the city, I highly suggest you check out this one-of-a-kind event. If you aren't going to be in town, check out the Gaga Workshop Site here.

 

 

My Favorite Couple featured in Matchbook: The Spades

I burned out on blogging for a while but I am back in the game. My first blog in almost two months features my favorite couple that I am dying to hang out with: The Spades. Matchbook has this eccentric and fabulous duo on their cover along with an expansive feature inside. Thank you Matchbook!

September's Matchbook Magazine is out! Keeping my eye out for Lonny, Rue, and High Gloss. 

Missoni for Target

Mark your calendars for September 13th. Missoni for Target will be arriving in stores and flying off shelves. This high end brand has taken the very smart step of designing a limited edition line for Target. I could be wrong but, I think H&M made this trend hot a few years ago with lines designed by Stella McCartny, Karl Lagerfeld, and Madonna just to name a few. While H&M is only available in stores and not online, Target is much more accessible to those of us not lucky enough to have and H&M in town. The Missoni line covers not only clothes but home, accessories, baby, shoes, and even a very festive bicycle. Below are some of my favorite pieces from the look book. If you want to get your Missoni on, get there early on the 13th or get online first thing that day. I predict that this highly publicized line will be a quick sell out. 

As a side note - PLEASE don't wear all this at the same time! Too much!

Urban Style for Your Ears: FreeSol

When I like something I have this massive need to share it (hence the blog). So I am going to dive into the arts today and share some music from a group I love, FreeSol. These guys have both great style and great sound. Enjoy some tunes for today and I will be back on my next post with fashion, home decor, or my favorite "it" thing/person. I have just been introduced to Pinterest so chances are good I will be posting about this new obsession very soon. 

As a side note - The building in the image above houses the legendary Ernestine & Hazels in Memphis, TN. If you are ever in Memphis about midnight on a Friday or Saturday, head out to E&H, play some Al Green on the jukebox and get a Soul Burger. There is nothing like it!

Bugaboo...A Moral Dilemma

So...it's wrong for me to have a baby just to get one of these special edition Missoni Bugaboos...right???

New Issues of High Gloss, Lonny, Rue, and Matchbook

The new issues of my favorite online style and shelter magazines are finally all out. Get your coffee and settle down for some magazine time. 

Magazine Street Style

My plan was to take pictures of some of the great shopping and eating spots on Magazine Street on a recent trip to the great city of New Orleans. That did not happen because for the first time in my last 5 trips to NOLA, it rained the whole time I was there. Magazine Street and rain do not mix. While I had planned to walk up the street I ended up driving and while I planned to hop in an out of shops and galleries I only hit a few because I was soaking wet by the time I got to the door. With that being said.......

Magazine Street is one of the great urban residential shopping streets/districts in the country. Unless you are familiar with NOLA, you probably aren't too terribly familiar with Magazine. Gallery after gallery, boutique after boutique, restaurant after restaurant....Magazine has style that you can only find in NOLA. Here are some of the hot spots that I recommend from my recent visit to the Big Easy.
